Acceptance of these Terms
By submitting a registration through this website, checking the agreement box during registration, or otherwise enrolling a student in Dira Mentorship ("Dira," "we," "us," or "our"), you ("you," "Parent/Guardian," or "Registrant") confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and the separate Waiver and Consent Form completed after registration. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not register or continue using this website.
These Terms form a legal agreement between you and Dira. If you are completing registration on behalf of a student who is a minor, you represent that you are that student's parent or legal guardian and have the authority to agree to these Terms and to the Waiver and Consent Form on the student's behalf.
Eligibility & who may register
Dira Mentorship is designed for high school students. Registration must be completed by a parent or legal guardian, not by the student directly. By registering, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years old and are the student's parent or legal guardian, or otherwise hold legal authority to enroll the student and consent on their behalf;
- The information you provide about yourself and the student during registration is accurate and current, and you will promptly update it (by contacting us; see Section 24) if it changes; and
- The student meets the grade/age criteria described for the cohort being registered for, as shown on this website at the time of registration.
We reserve the right to decline, delay, or cancel a registration if eligibility cannot be reasonably confirmed, if a cohort is full (see Section 05), or for any of the reasons described in Section 10.
The program
Dira Mentorship is a 16-week mentorship program delivered in small, capped regional cohorts, combining group coaching, ACT preparation, college and career readiness instruction, life-skills instruction, and, where applicable to a given cohort, individual coaching, virtual sessions, and optional off-site or company-visit activities. The specific schedule, format (in-person, virtual, or a mix), meeting location, and duration of each cohort are described on the cohort's listing on this website at the time of registration and may vary by region and term.
We may adjust curriculum content, session format, mentors, or specific activities within a cohort as reasonably necessary to run the program effectively, provided the overall scope of the program described at registration is not materially reduced without notice.
Registration & your account
Registering does not create a user account or password-protected login for parents or students; this website does not require one. Instead, each completed registration is assigned a unique registration number, which is emailed to the address provided at registration and is used to look up registration status, complete the required consent/waiver step, and make or view payments toward the program fee.
You are responsible for keeping your registration number and the email account you registered with secure, since either can be used to view or act on your registration. If you believe your registration number has been compromised, contact us immediately (Section 24).
A registration is not confirmed as complete, and a student's seat in a cohort is not guaranteed, until (a) the required first payment has been received under Section 06, and (b) the separate Waiver and Consent Form has been completed by the parent/guardian.
Cohorts, capacity & waitlists
Each cohort has a limited number of seats. Seats are allocated in the order that registrations are completed and paid, not merely started. If a cohort reaches capacity, you may be offered the option to join a waitlist for that cohort instead of registering directly.
Joining a waitlist does not reserve a seat, does not require payment, and does not create any obligation on Dira to offer you a seat. If a seat becomes available, we will attempt to contact waitlisted families using the contact information provided, in the order the waitlist entry was received, but we do not guarantee a particular response time or that a seat will ultimately open in a given cohort or term.
Program fees & payment plans
The program fee for a given cohort is displayed on this website at the time of registration and is confirmed again at checkout before any payment is made. At your first payment, you will choose one of the payment options offered for that cohort, which may include:
- Full payment: the entire program fee is paid at registration.
- Two-installment plan: a minimum first payment is made at registration (the amount is shown at checkout), with the remaining balance due before the cohort's start date.
- Four-installment plan: where offered, a fixed schedule of $500 at registration, followed by $340, $340, and $320, for a total matching the cohort's program fee. This plan is only available for cohorts priced to match this fixed schedule.
Once selected, a payment plan applies to that registration; changing plans after your first payment may not be possible in every case, but you're welcome to contact us (Section 24) if your circumstances change. We will send email reminders as scheduled installment dates or your cohort's start date approach, but reminders are a courtesy; responsibility for making payments on time rests with the Registrant regardless of whether a reminder was received.
Payment processing
All online payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., an independent third-party payment processor. We do not receive, process, or store your full card number or bank account details on our servers; Stripe handles that data directly under its own security standards and privacy practices, available at stripe.com/privacy. We retain only the payment records reasonably necessary to track your balance, issue receipts, and reconcile our accounts (such as amounts, dates, and Stripe's own transaction identifiers).
In limited cases we may also record a payment made by another method (for example, check or cash) directly in our records; the same fee, receipt, and refund terms in these Terms apply regardless of payment method.
Late or missed payments
If a scheduled installment is not received by its due date, we will attempt to reach you by email to resolve it before taking any further action. Continued non-payment may result in a pause or suspension of the student's participation in program sessions until the account is brought current, or, if payment issues cannot be resolved, the registration may be treated as withdrawn under Section 09.
We do not charge a separate late fee at this time, but reserve the right to introduce one with advance notice if a cohort's payment plan terms are updated to include it.
Cancellations, withdrawals & refunds
We understand that plans change. The following schedule applies to a withdrawal initiated by a parent/guardian, measured against the affected cohort's published start date:
- 14 or more days before the cohort start date: full refund of any amount paid, less any non-refundable processing fee actually charged to us by our payment processor for that transaction.
- Less than 14 days before the cohort start date, or after the cohort has begun but before its second session: 50% refund of any amount paid toward the program fee.
- On or after the cohort's second session: payments made are non-refundable, and any remaining installment balance for the chosen payment plan remains due, reflecting the seat held and program resources committed on the student's behalf.
To withdraw, contact us (Section 24) with the student's registration number. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method where possible and are typically processed within 10 business days of approval. We may, at our discretion, offer a transfer to a later cohort instead of, or in addition to, a partial refund.
Changes, delays & cancellation by Dira
Occasionally a cohort may need to be rescheduled, combined with another cohort, moved between in-person and virtual delivery, or cancelled outright, for example, due to insufficient enrollment, mentor or facility availability, weather, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. If we cancel a cohort you're registered in before it begins, you will receive, at your choice, a full refund of amounts paid or a transfer to another available cohort.
If a cohort is cancelled or a session is missed after the program has begun for reasons within our control, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the affected session(s) or otherwise adjust the program so the student receives the program substantially as described at registration.
Student conduct
Participating students are expected to engage respectfully with mentors, staff, and other students; follow the safety and technology rules for their cohort's sessions (in-person or virtual); respect the privacy of others in the program; and refrain from harassment, discrimination, or sharing inappropriate content. Parents/guardians are expected to support the student in meeting these expectations and completing reasonable program requirements (attendance, assignments, and similar).
We may contact a parent/guardian regarding a conduct concern, place reasonable conditions on continued participation, or, for serious or repeated violations, dismiss a student from the program. Dismissal for a documented conduct violation is treated, for refund purposes, the same as a withdrawal after the cohort's second session (Section 09), regardless of when in the program it occurs.
Waiver, consent & assumption of risk
After registering, a parent/guardian must complete a separate Waiver and Consent Form before the student's participation is confirmed. That form covers, among other things, consent to program participation, an assumption-of-risk and liability waiver, emergency medical authorization, virtual-session consent, and, where applicable and separately optional, consent for transportation, off-site activities, photo/media use, and sharing of academic records. The Waiver and Consent Form is incorporated into, and forms part of, these Terms.
You acknowledge that program activities, including travel to and from sessions, physical movement, use of technology and virtual platforms, and interaction with mentors, staff, and other participants, carry ordinary risks. To the fullest extent permitted by Minnesota law, and consistent with the terms of the Waiver and Consent Form you sign, you release Dira Mentorship, its owners, staff, contractors, volunteers, mentors, partners, and host locations from claims arising out of ordinary negligence in connection with the program. Nothing in these Terms or the Waiver and Consent Form releases Dira from liability for gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or any liability that cannot lawfully be waived.
Electronic communications & virtual sessions
By registering, you consent to receive email (and, where you separately opt in during consent, text message or phone) communications from Dira about the registration, payments, program logistics, and, for the student, where separately authorized, direct communication from assigned mentors about program matters. A parent/guardian may request to be copied on communications between a mentor and a student at any time by contacting us.
Virtual sessions, where offered, take place on Dira-approved video or communication platforms. Those platforms operate under their own separate terms of service and privacy practices, which we encourage you to review; Dira is not responsible for the availability, security practices, or content of a third-party platform except to the extent required by applicable law.
Photo, video & testimonials
Photo, video, audio, and testimonial use is entirely optional and is requested separately as part of the Waiver and Consent Form; it is never a condition of participating in the program. If you consent, we may use the student's image, voice, first name, work samples, or testimonial in program materials, on our website, on social media, or in promotional materials, and will not intentionally publish sensitive academic or medical information alongside it. You may withdraw permission for future use in writing at any time (Section 24), though material already published or distributed before your withdrawal may not be fully retrievable.
No guarantee of outcomes
Dira Mentorship is an educational and mentorship program. While we design our curriculum and coaching to support meaningful academic and personal growth, we do not guarantee any specific outcome, including, without limitation, a particular ACT/SAT score improvement, college admission decision, scholarship award, or grade result. Individual results depend on many factors outside our control, including the student's own effort, attendance, and starting point.
Acceptable use of this website
You agree not to, and not to permit anyone else to, in connection with this website:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent registration, payment, or contact information;
- Attempt to access another family's registration, payment, or waiver records without authorization;
- Probe, scan, or attempt to bypass the security or rate limits of this website or its underlying systems;
- Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access or interact with the website outside normal browsing; or
- Use the website for any unlawful purpose or in a way that could damage, disable, or impair it for others.
We may suspend or terminate access to registration or payment features for anyone who violates this section, without prejudice to any other rights or remedies available to us.
Intellectual property
The Dira Mentorship name, logo, curriculum materials, website design, and content (excluding information you submit about yourself or the student) are owned by Dira Mentorship or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages of this website for your own personal, non-commercial use in connection with registration and participation, but may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our curriculum materials or website content without our prior written permission.
Where you separately consent to a testimonial or media release under Section 14, you grant Dira the license described in that consent to use the specific content you provided or that features the student, as described there.
Third-party services & links
This website relies on third-party services to operate, including Stripe for payment processing (Section 07) and Microsoft for transactional email delivery, each governed by that provider's own terms and privacy practices. This website may also link to third-party websites (for example, informational or partner resources) for your convenience; we do not control and are not responsible for the content, terms, or privacy practices of any third-party website.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Minnesota law, and in addition to (not in place of) the waiver described in Section 12, Dira Mentorship, its owners, staff, contractors, volunteers, and mentors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your or the student's use of this website or participation in the program, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the extent any liability is not excluded by the above or by the Waiver and Consent Form, our total aggregate liability to you arising out of or relating to the program or this website will not exceed the total program fees actually paid by you for the registration giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply to liability for gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dira Mentorship, its owners, staff, contractors, volunteers, and mentors from any third-party claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, misuse of this website, or provision of false or misleading information during registration, except to the extent caused by our own gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
Governing law & disputes
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them, the program, or this website, are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any legal action not resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Before filing a claim, we ask that you first contact us (Section 24) so we can attempt to resolve the issue directly; most concerns can be worked out this way faster than through formal proceedings.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the program, our services, or applicable law. If we make a material change, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where the change materially affects an active registration, notify affected families by email. Continued participation in the program after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms; changes will not be applied retroactively to reduce protections for a registration already paid in full before the change.
General provisions
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and the Waiver and Consent Form completed for a given registration, constitute the entire agreement between you and Dira Mentorship regarding that registration, and supersede any prior understanding on the same subject.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all of our assets.
